Patient Transporter

Jitjatjo is looking for empathetic team members who enjoy helping people and are comfortable working in healthcare environments.
Patient Transporters assist with patient safety, transport, and care, within designated areas in the facility and will work closely with medical staff. Successful Talent focus on comfort for patients while interacting with them to ensure they have a pleasant experience.

Responsibilities

- Ensure the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, laboratory specimens, and medical equipment to their destinations within the healthcare facility.
- Demonstrate competency in transporting patients of all age-groups.
- Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinician, technician or reception, and dispatch.
- Ensure the comfort of the patient by attending to their needs and their families by offering support if needed.
- Disinfect and clean transport equipment before, after each patient use, and as required.
- Maintains equipment and reports equipment needing repairs.
- Honor all confidentiality guidelines and department policies/procedures.
- Assist other healthcare staff as needed.

Requirements

- Previous experience working with patients in hospitals or healthcare environments.
- Physical ability to frequently move, lift, and handle heavy weight.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
- Must be comfortable caring for young, elderly, sick, and physically challenged people.
- Demonstrable bedside manner and communication skills.
- Must be comfortable wearing proper PPE on-site and coming into contact with bodily fluids, blood, or potentially infectious materials.
