Catering Captain
An organized multi-tasker that manages & directs an on-site team.
Responsibilities
Supervise food and beverage service throughout event to ensure quality service and positive guest experiences
Assist with the planning, organizing and execution of all catered functions
Ensure entire operation for a successful event runs smoothly and according to plan by providing solutions quickly
Manage and assign shifts and responsibilitites to workers
Be the point-of-contact for all team members as well as the host to respond to last-minutet requests
Monitor that state-wide safety, sanitation, and alcohol codes are followed by guests and staff
Train event staff if necessary and brief them on event run-of-show
Monitor the activities of workers and guests and respond to questions, complaints, or comments that may arise
Oversight & management of event set up, execution, break down, and supply stock
Requirements
Passion for events, people management, and food
Previous captain, manager, server, or bartending experience within a restaurant or with a catering company
Punctuality and a polished, professional appearance
Attention to cleanliness and safety
Ability to maintain courteous and professional attitude & communication with all guests, employees, and managers at all times
Ability to anticipate and be flexible to all changes
Ability to multitask and stay organized with strong attention to detail
Physical ability and stamina to stand for long periods of time and carry/lift heavy items
Responsible, trustworthy, and team player qualities
Experience serving guests during large high-profile events a major plus
